02-02-2006
Regional setup:
BANK DnB NORD, the new bank for north-eastern Europe, has started operations from its new headquarters in Copenhagen.
The bank is a joint venture between NORD/LB Norddeutsche Landesbank and the largest Norwegian financial group, DnB NOR. Henceforth it will combine parent bank activities in Denmark, Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania under one umbrella.
Operating from its newly opened headquarters in Copenhagen and through subsidiaries in Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, BANK DnB NORD offers its customers a complete range of innovative, high-quality financial services. A branch office in Finland is to be opened during the first quarter of 2006.
The establishment of DnB NORD marks the first time that a German and a Scandinavian bank have entered into such a joint venture; and there has never been such a joint venture between a Landesbank (German state bank) and an international private bank before.
