World Bank: Danes are world champions in foreign business
12-10-2005
Economy:The Danes are world champions in foreign business, writes I dag – Industriens Dagblad.
This concludes the World Bank’s so-called ‘ease of doing business index’, which ranks Denmark number one among a total of 155 countries when it comes to easy, smooth business across borders.
The World Bank currently measures the business climate in 155 of the world’s countries by examining tax levels, administrative procedures, labour accessibility and other conditions.
Overall Denmark’s good business climate ranks eighth on the world list - enough to secure Denmark the yellow jersey among EU countries and placing Denmark ahead of the UK (9th), Ireland (11th) and Sweden (14th) globally.
The Danes’ willingness to learn foreign languages, utilise new communications technology and limit administrative burdens all contribute towards ensuring good business conditions for companies in Denmark.
