The Roskilde Finger is situated to the west of Copenhagen. The
motorway E20/21 bisects the Roskilde Finger. With Roskilde Station
to the east and Høje-Taastrup station to the west, the Roskilde
Finger has very good train connections in all directions. The
distance to Copenhagen is 30 km, making the transit time 20-30 min.
depending on means of transportation.
The Roskilde Finger primarily hosts research oriented companies
due to its extensive technological infrastructure which include
Roskilde University, CAT Science Park, Danish Technological
Institute and Risø National Laboratory. This makes the area ideal
for any business within ICT and biotechnology/pharma.
The area hosts prominent international companies including
Digiquant and Fischer, the latter having its Scandinavian
Headquarters here. Among well-known Danish companies located in the
area, the two medico companies Nycomed and Nunc are the most
important.
The Roskilde Finger offers sites for light manufacturing as well
as office buildings. The rent level for office buildings typically
ranges from EUR 100-135 per sqm p.a. exclusive of operating costs
(source: Sadolin & Albæk, Copenhagen and Malmoe, Property
Market Report 2004).
In time, Roskilde Airport will be the discount airport of the
Copenhagen Region with non-stop flights to European
destinations.
