The Helsingør Finger covers the north-eastern coastline of
Zealand. By highway E47/E55 it is possible to reach Copenhagen
International Airport in less than one hour. Ferries are sailing
from the Port of Helsingør and to Helsingborg in Sweden every 10
minutes with 20 minutes sailing time. This places Helsingør as the
main logistic port with freight and cargo handling of the area.
The Helsingør Finger hosts a wide variety of international and
Danish companies within pharma/biotech, headquarters and
distribution. The companies include Coloplast, the Scandinavian
Headquarters for Mitsubishi, Dansac, and DaimlerChrysler
Distribution. Bavarian Nordic has recently opened a production and
administration facility in the area.
A number of well-known ICT companies are also located in the
area, among these Hewlett-Packard, Apple Computer, Hitachi Data
Systems and SPSS.
Proximity to a number of world class research institutions makes
location Helsingør an ideal location for R&D intensive
companies. The district hosts a major research park, SCION DTU, and
a number of Advanced Technology Group institutions. SCION DTU is
the result of a merger between the activities of the Science Parks
at Hørsholm and the Technological University of Denmark and is
offering leases in modern premises for businesses engaging in
research and development.
Advanced Technology Group institutions in the district comprise
The Danish Toxicology Centre (toxicology, risk assessment,
international regulation, industrial practice and product
information), DHI Water & Environment, (ecology and
environmental chemistry, water resources, hydraulic structures and
hydrodynamics and other areas related to water environment) and
DELTA (electronics, microelectronics, software technology, light,
optics, acoustics and vibration.
The area offers a number of office developments with lower rent
levels than in the city centre and in the areas just north of the
city centre. In the Helisgnør Finger rent levels for office
buildings range from EUR 105-135 per sqm p.a. exclusive of
operating costs (source: Sadolin & Albæk, Copenhagen and
