Medicon Valley’s four largest pharmaceutical companies contribute to the region’s highly mature product development capability. While some regions have more biotech companies, few can match Medicon Valley in products in the pipeline – especially in the later stages of development.
The region is also exceptionally strong in biomedical manufacturing, where Denmark ranks third among the world’s largest pharmaceutical exporters per capita. More than 10 companies in Medicon Valley offer contractual manufacturing, and the region also contains over 30 medical device manufacturers.
The productivity of all area life science companies is aided by the Medicon Valley Academy, an information network among 260 hospitals, healthcare organizations, universities, and biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
