The media company Red Herring recently selected the 100 best private technology companies in Europe. In the list are five Danish companies Asetek, Speakanet, Dezide, Zoomio and SSP Tech.

The award is presented to companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which are expected to have a significant growth rate in the next few years.

However, not only Denmark distinguished itself. 29 of the 100 companies are from the Nordic countries, writes Berlingske Business. This statistics make Northzone Ventures hold its head high. They have invested in two of the Danish winners namely Asetek and Speakanet.

“Red Herring's award demonstrates the position of the Nordic countries and Denmark as a leading centre for innovation within the global technology sector,” says Gregers Kronborg who is partner in Northzone Ventures.

Red Herring is a US media company creating events all over the world and they are trying to predict which trends will become popular. Apart from Europe, Red Herring publishes its top-100 list, in which the Danish companies are now listed, in Asia and North America. Moreover, Red Herring is issuing publications in print.
