27-09-2007
Property and construction:
The Danish Minister for Transport and Energy recently laid down the foundation stone for CABINN Metro in Ørestad. With 700 rooms the hotel will be Denmark’s largest and is expected to be finished in the middle of 2009.
It is the world-famous architect Daniel Liebeskind who has designed CABINN Metro which will have a capacity of more than 700 rooms and consequently become Denmark’s largest hotel.
“The Øresund Region is today characterised by high economic growth and the region is competitive with other European metropolises. The foundation for this development started in the beginning of the 1990s when it was decided to invest in a new district, a bridge and a metro. Ørestad is growing rapidly and the CABINN Metro is a symbol of the fact that the investments are fruitful," said the Danish Minister of Transport and Energy Jakob Axel Nielsen according to a press release from the Ørestadsselskabet.
The location in Ørestad City close to Copenhagen Airport, the many companies in Ørestad and just a 10 minute-ride by metro from downtown Copenhagen is ideal for the new hotel. Moreover, a top-class golf course will open in 2008 on the other side of road.
“The customer potential will without doubt be large for CABINN Metro. Access by the Øresund highway, the railroad and the metro is perfect. The airport is only few minutes away and Copenhagen and not least Bella Center have a continued need for bed nights,” says general manager Lars Bernhard Jørgensen of Wonderful Copenhagen.
CABINN Metro will be located in the north west corner of downtown Ørestad whose master plan also is designed by Daniel Liebeskind.
